Of interest to collectors : Stainless steel Date Submariner model 16800 from the early 1980s (634xxxx case number) on Oyster Fliplock 93150 bracelet. This model was the first of the sapphire glass versions in steel, with 3035 calibre movement; it still retains its original dial which correctly does NOT have the white gold surrounds to the luminous indices, which came later. For its age the bracelet is in excellent order, the dial superb and we have just given the watch a movement service and new Rolex glass at an Approved Rolex Watchmaker. The bezel insert and dial are now nicely patinated, though we will exchange the existing bezel insert for a new one at no charge if the buyer prefers. The hands appear well-matched to the dial, though we have fitted a NEW seconds hand to replace the original, which had deteriorated too far to be aesthetically acceptable. We still have this old seconds hand, if the buyer wishes to keep it. Sold with a Rolex box-set and our own warranty card. The NEW equivalent is now £5,700 !
